Managing Family Feelings and their Relations to Achievement Motivation among Adolescents

Abstract

The aim of the current study was to study the management of some family feelings in its dimensions positive emotions (optimism, feeling satisfied, sense of ability to influence) negative emotions (fear, anxiety, anger) and their relationship to achievement motivation with their axes (perseverance, self-confidence, mastery, taking responsibility, estimating the value of time) among adolescent children. Tools included the Adolescent Public Data Form, the Certain Emotions Management Questionnaire and the Achievement Motivation Questionnaire. The sample of the basic study consisted of (393) adolescents, and the sample was selected in a simple random way from government schools. The descriptive analytical approach was used, and after collecting the data, it was unpacked, tabulated and analyzed statistically using the SPSS21 program. The results resulted in a correlation between the management of some family feelings in their dimensions and the motivation of achievement in their axes. The research recommends shedding light on the importance of adolescent children as a productive element in society, as they are the builders of the future, and the family has a major role in pushing children towards achieving various achievements in light of economic, social and political changes in the economy, social and political development.
