An Applied Vision for Hand Tufting Carpet Implementation Techniques and Employing them in Designing and Producing Contemporary Textile Pendants

Abstract

The research aims to take advantage of the applied methods of hand tufting carpets and employ them to produce three-dimensional textile pendants, To achieve the objectives of the study, a group of (6) designs were made, Through the foundations of design and technology for hand tufting carpets, and the use of some Islamic geometric, floral and fabricated Islamic elements and motifs, to emphasize and enrich the aesthetic values ​​of the design of the textile hanging.
A number of designs were selected and implemented using hand tufting carpet techniques (Tuft), A tool (evaluation form) was designed and applied by specialized referees in the field, After applying the form, its data was processed statistically to reach the best designs for its implementer, and the study finally reached a set of results and recommendations, If applied, it can achieve an advanced level in the design and production of 3D textile pendants.
