Marital compatibility and its relation to motivation achievement for femal university student

Abstract

The main objective of this study was to study the relationship between marital compatibility and the motivation of achievement of the university student. Study of differences between marriage and motivation for achievement of university students according to some social and economic variables (place of residence, number of children, type of exponent) (Simple - extended), educational level of the husband).
Several tools were used to obtain the necessary data and information for the study. They included: the general data form for the married university student, the questionnaire of marital compatibility in its three dimensions (psychological compatibility, social consensus, family consensus), the questionnaire of achievement motivation in its five dimensions (mastery, responsibility, self-confidence , Perseverance - estimating the value of time), the study tools were applied to a sample of (150) university students married from all study groups from some colleges of Tanta University, Faculty of Home Economics, Al-Azhar University and the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Kafr El-Sheikh and from educational levels. This study follows a descriptive and analytical approach.                                          
The most important results of the study: the existence of a positive correlation statistically significant between each of (psychological compatibility - family consensus) and each of (mastery - responsibility - self - confidence - perseverance - estimating the value of time). A positive correlation between age and marital compatibility. There is a positive correlation between the monthly income of the family and marital compatibility, and there is a positive correlation between the monthly income of the family and some dimensions of achievement motivation (mastery - self-confidence - perseverance - the value of time). Positive correlation between regular attendance and motivation of achievement.Lack of correlation between the number of hours of attendance in the school day and marital compatibility. The presence of statistically significant differences between the study sample female students according to the type of family on the axis of family consensus. The presence of statistically significant differences in some dimensions of motivation for achievement, according to the type of family on the axis (mastery - self-confidence - perseverance - estimating the value of time). The presence of statistically significant differences between the students of the study sample in the marital compatibility according to the type of study on the themes of psychological and social compatibility. The presence of statistically significant differences in marital compatibility and motivation of achievement according to the husband's profession. There are statistically significant differences in marital compatibility according to the husband's education level.The researcher recommends the need to hold training courses by specialists on the importance of marital compatibility in the life of the university student and its impact on the motivation for achievement.
