A Suggested Perception to Develop A "Research Project" Course for Home Economics Student Teachers in the Light of Teacher Researcher Roles

Abstract

            Teacher preparation development issue has become more important in light of the successive transformations witnessed by the societies, which have resulted in the emergence of new responsibilities and roles that the teacher should undertake. Hence, the various countries have studied how to prepare and train him to carry out his changing roles, primarily his role as researcher, The teacher in many situations and daily problems related to the school system and educational as a whole, requires training on how to meet them and find solutions commensurate with field reality. So the research aim to develop a "Research project" course for Home Economics student teachers in the light of teacher researcher roles at faculty of Home Economics Menoufia University. The researcher used analytical descriptive method based on the review of theoretical literature on some of the global trends in teacher preparation, and to learn about the international experiences related to the teacher researcher preparation courses in the educational colleges. The researcher evaluated the course in terms of quantitative characterization of course content according to the quality assurance and accreditation authority model, and qualitative characterization by clarifying its requirements and its implementation strategy throughout the academic year. The researcher concluded a number of recommendations, insertion teacher researcher preparation goal within the objectives of home economics teacher preparation program, the presentation of student teachers researches projects at the annual scientific conference of Home Economics and Education Department and published in the scientific journal of the Faculty, availability the Faculty's databases for the completion of research projects, developing the educational preparation courses at the department in the light of future roles and professional requirements, cooperation between student teachers and home economics teachers to conduct participation research projects, activating research cooperation between the college and schools to develop professional practices related to home economics
