Abstract

The main objective of the research is to study the nature of the relationship between the problems of students in schools of excellence in its dimensions (social, psychological, academic, housing and living problems) and their self-management (understanding and self-affirmation, self-control and self-evaluation). To study the relationship between certain socio-economic level variables of students in schools of excellence in the study sample and their problems and self-management. To interpret the differences between students in schools of study excellence in their problems and self-management according to place of residence and specialization, to clarify the differences between students in the school sample in their problems and self-management according to school year and school.
The sample included 215 male and female students from all groups and from different economic and social levels at the schools of excellence in the Arab republic of Egypt. General data on the families of students in schools of outstanding students and the student himself. This survey used a questionnaire on the problems of students in schools of outstanding students in various fields (psychological, social, academic, housing and living problems) and a questionnaire on self-management in its dimensions (self-affirmation, acceptance and self-evaluation) using the analytical descriptive approach.
The study reached a number of conclusions, the most significant of which are: A statistically negative correlation exists between social problems and self-affirmation and self-acceptance at significance level (0.01). A statistically negative correlation exists between problems of high school students and self-affirmation and self-acceptance of high school students at significance level (0.01). A statistically positive correlation exists between student age, self-assessment and self-management at significance level (0.05). A statistical discrepancy between the study sample of students in schools of excellence in psychological problems was found in school year 2.861, a value of d at 05. A statistical difference between the study sample of students in schools of excellence in social problems is found between the level of education of the father and that of the higher education level. One of the most important recommendations of the study was to hold seminars and lectures on awareness development among students.
