Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a cognitive-behavioral guidance programme based on positive thinking skills in improving attentional control and reducing academic burnout among female students. A sample of 25 female students. The researchers developed a cognitive-behavioral guidance programme based on positive thinking skills and prepared the Attentional Control Scale and the Academic Burnout Scale. The results revealed a statistically significant difference at the 0.01 level between the mean scores of the experimental group on the Attentional Control Scale in the pre- and post-intervention phases, favoring the post-intervention phase. There was also a statistically significant difference at the (0.01) level between the mean scores of the experimental group on the Academic Burnout Scale in the pre- and post-intervention phases, with the post-intervention phase showing significantly lower scores. However, there were no statistically significant differences at the (0.05) level between the mean scores of the experimental group on the Attentional Control Scale in the post-intervention and follow-up phases, nor were there any statistically significant differences at the (0.05) level between the mean scores of the experimental group on the Academic Burnout Scale in the post-intervention and follow-up phases.
