Abstract

The research aims to explore the effectiveness of a proposed program for female industrial education students in developing skills related to pattern drawing, cutting, and preparation of clothing for physically disabled individuals. The study followed a descriptive-analytical approach by reviewing relevant literature and previous research to evaluate the content of the proposed program and prepare research tools. The experimental method was employed to implement the proposed program, using a single-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 30 female students in the third year of secondary industrial education, specializing in ready-made clothing, at Sayyida Khadija Industrial School for Girls. Research tools included a cognitive achievement test (pretest/posttest), an applied skills test (pretest/posttest), an assessment scale for evaluating the final product, and a scale measuring students’ attitudes toward the proposed learning approach. The results indicated statistically significant differences between the average scores of students in the achievement test and the assessment scale before and after program implementation, favoring the post-implementation phase. Additionally, the results confirmed positive student attitudes toward learning through the proposed program. Furthermore, the findings highlighted the effectiveness of the proposed training program in enhancing knowledge acquisition and developing pattern drawing and preparation skills for physically disabled students majoring in ready-made clothing within the industrial education field.
