Abstract

Abstract: The current research aimed at investigating the effectiveness of using brain-based learning in teaching home economics in developing visual thinking skills and mind habits among secondary school female students, the sample consisted of a total (60) female students, which has been divided into (30) female students as an experimental group and (30) female students as a control group. The research tools consisted of testing The Visual Thinking Skills, The Habits of Mind Scale. The results revealed statistically significant differences between the average scores of the female students of the experimental group and the control group in the post-application of The Visual Thinking Skills Test as a whole and its Skills, in favor of the female students of the experimental group. There are also statistically significant differences between the average scores of the female students of the experimental group and the control group in the post-application of The Habits of Mind Scale as a whole and its Dimensions, in favor of the female students of the experimental group, and that there is a statistically significant positive correlation between the scores of The Visual Thinking Skills Test and the scores of The Habits of Mind Scale in the Home Economics subject in Post-application for female students in the experimental group, which confirms the effectiveness of using brain-based learning in teaching home economics on developing visual thinking skills and habits of mind among secondary school female students.
