Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of the self-organized learning strategy in teaching home economics to develop analytical thinking skills and decision-making ability among secondary school students. The study tools were applied, which consisted of a test of analytical thinking skills (prepared by the researcher) and a measure of decision-making ability (prepared by the researcher), The data of the study experience were processed statistically, and the results of the study resulted in the presence of a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group students and the scores of the students of the control group in the post application to test analytical thinking skills in favor of the experimental group, and there was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group students and the scores of the students of the group The control group in the post application of the decision-making ability scale in favor of the experimental group, as well as the existence of a positive, statistically significant correlation between the grades of first-year secondary students in the analytical thinking skills test and their scores in the decision-making ability scale for the benefit of the experimental group, which indicates the effectiveness of the self-organized learning strategy in developing analytical thinking skills and decision-making ability for secondary students.
