Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the nature of the relationship between the attitude towards household tasks in its four aspects (the attitude towards performing household tasks, the motives for forming the attitude towards household tasks, the trend towards time and effort management, and the trend towards simplifying the performance of household tasks), and the quality of family life in its five aspects (quality of healthy life, quality of religious life, quality of economic life, quality of social life, quality of residential life) for a sample of wives. The present study followed the descriptive analytical approach; they were selected using a purposeful accidental method consisting of (700) wives. The results showed a statistically significant negative correlation between the questionnaire on the attitude towards household tasks with its four aspects and the questionnaire on the quality of family life with its five aspects at the significant level of 0.01. The study presented a set of recommendations, the most important of which was the preparation of awareness programs for those about to marry and newlyweds through various visual and audio media through specialists from psychology professors and home management specialists and institutions to educate them about the foundations of achieving the quality of family life, and train and assist wives to form a positive attitude towards household tasks and to form motivation towards their better performance.
