The Relative Contribution of Habits of Mind and Cognitive Flexibility in Predicting Experiential Wisdom among Students of the Faculty of Home Economics.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the levels of habits of mind, cognitive flexibility, and experiential wisdom among students of the Faculty of Home Economics and to study the relationship between habits of mind, cognitive flexibility, and experiential wisdom according to a set of variables and to predict experiential wisdom through the relative contribution of the students' habits of mind and cognitive flexibility. The research tools included: the primary data form and the questionnaire of (habits of mind, cognitive flexibility, and experiential wisdom). The research was applied to a sample of (177) students of the Faculty of Home Economics, Menoufia University, in the first semester of the academic year (2021-2022). The research concluded a set of results as follows: - There are no statistically significant differences between (male and female) Faculty of Home Economics students in their average scores in the questionnaire of (habits of mind - cognitive flexibility - experiential wisdom). -There are no statistically significant differences between the Faculty of Home Economics students in their average scores in the questionnaire of (habits of mind - cognitive flexibility - experiential wisdom) according to the academic study year. -Habits of mind and cognitive flexibility contribute to predicting the experiential wisdom of students of the Faculty of Home Economics.
