The Effectiveness of Self-Questioning Strategy in Developing the Ability to Make Decisions and Academic Achievement of Home Economics among Preparatory Students

Abstract

The current research investigated the effectiveness of using the self-questioning strategy in teaching home economics in developing the ability to make decisions and academic achievement among preparatory stage female students in a sample consisting of (90) students from the second year of middle school, and they were divided into two groups (53) students in an experimental group, (37) students in a control group, To achieve this, an academic achievement test and a decision-making ability scale were built. After processing data statistically, the results revealed the following: statistically significant difference at the level of (0.01) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental and control groups in the post-application The dimensional scale is the ability of making decision, the experimental group in the dimensional application, and there is a statistically significant difference at the level (0.01) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental and control groups in the post-application of the academic achievement test as a whole And its sub-dimensions in favor of the experimental group, and there is a significant positive correlation Statistically between the scores of the experimental group students in the post-application of both the decision-making ability scale and the academic achievement test, which confirms the effectiveness of using The strategy of self-questioning in teaching home economics to develop the ability of making decision and academic achievement of middle school students.
