The Effectiveness of the Hexagonal Dimensions in Developing Metacognitive Thinking Skills and Self-Confidence of Female Undergraduate Students at the Faculty of Home Economics Menoufia University
The current research sought to reveal the effectiveness of the six-dimensional strategy PDEODE in teaching the individual differences course and evaluation on the development of metacognitive thinking skills and self-confidence of (90) female students in the fourth year at the Faculty of Home Economics, Menoufia University. The sample was divided into two groups: the first group consisted of (45) a student as an experimental group, and the second group was the control group, which consisted of (45) female students. The study tools were prepared as follows: a test of metacognitive thinking skills and a measure of self-confidence. The descriptive-analytical and quasi-experimental approaches were used. The results showed that there is a statistically significant difference at the level (0.01) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental and control groups in the post-test of the metacognitive thinking skills as a whole and its sub-skills in favor of the experimental group. In addition, there is a statistically significant difference at level (0.01) between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group in the post-test of the self-confidence scale as a whole and its sub-dimensions in favor of the experimental group. Finally, there is a positive, statistically significant correlation between the scores of the experimental group in the post-test of the metacognitive thinking skills and the measure of self-confidence. These findings assert the effectiveness of the Hexagonal Dimensions in Developing Metacognitive Thinking Skills and Self-Confidence of Female Undergraduate Students at the Faculty of Home Economics at Menoufia University.
