Communication Management Strategies and their Relationship to Facing the Challenges of the Hearing Impaired.

Abstract

Suffering a hearing disability leaves side effects on the personality of the hearing impaired and his progress in all respects, and the most severe of these effects is that which hinders the process of communicating with others, and the matter gets worse because his appearance does not differ from ordinary people, which is further exacerbated by their normal appearance relative to people without hearing disabilities. Which makes them need care, accommodation of their needs, and problem solving in a different manner between the communication management strategies of the hearing-impaired including all its dimensions and the facing of the hearing impaired of their challenges with its axes. The research followed the descriptive analytical method tools were used, namely, the general data form, the communication management strategies questionnaire, the questionnaire for confronting the problems of the hearing impaired. The sample included (50) people with special hearing needs who were deliberately. The results showed the existence of a positive, statistically significant correlation between the communication management strategies of the hearing impaired in its three dimensions and facing the problems of the hearing impaired with its axes. There are differences between children of working and non-working mothers in the communication management strategies overall and in its two dimensions of family communication and community communication in favor of working mothers. It is recommended to hold seminars as well as educational and guidance programs that help spread effective communication methods and mechanisms to support relations between the hearing impaired and members of their families and societies.
