Self-control as an Intermediate Variable between Negative School Climate and Psychological Burnout among Female Home Economics Teachers

Abstract

The current research aims to reveal the relationship between negative school climate with self-control and psychological burnout among teachers, the relationship between negative school climate with psychological burnout after isolation of self-control, and to identify the effect of the years of experience, qualification, and work destination on the negative school climate, The research sample included (300) home economics teachers in general education schools and Al-Azhar institutes. The research tools included Self Control Scale, School Climate Scale, and Burnout Scale, and the research followed the descriptive correlative approach. The main results show there is negative correlation at the level of (0.05, 0.01) between the negative school climate with its dimensions and self-control with its dimensions, there is positive correlation at the level of (0.05, 0.01) between the negative school climate with its dimensions and burnout with its dimensions, and there is a statistically significant difference between the research groups in the negative school climate in favor of the experienced group (9-13 years), where that group is exposed to a more negative school climate, and there is no a statistically significant difference between the two groups (graduate and postgraduate) in the negative school climate, and there is a statistically significant difference between the two groups(education and Azhar)  in the negative school climate in favor of education who are exposed to a more negative school climate, The results also showed that the relationship between negative school climate and burnout decreases after isolating self-control.
