The Effect of Different Types of Seam and Stitch on Functional Properties of Sewing High Durability Teenagers Clothes "Jeans"

Abstract

The current research aims to study the effect of the difference in the type of stitch and Sewing Seam on some performance characteristics of high-end youth clothing "jeans" to determine the most appropriate scientific criteria for implementing some Seam joints for jeans fabrics according to the research variables and to determine the best Sewing Seam and the most appropriate stitch that achieves the quality of the characteristics of the performance of youth clothing fabrics are high Tolerance, in addition to studying the relationship between research variables(S)imple Tucked Sewing Seam, Lapped Tucked Seam Joint, Flat Seam Ribbon Joint, And the Seam stitches (Singer stitch, chain stitch, Urula), with both the sewing thread fixed (35% cotton axial yarn), and the Seam stitch density "8 stitches / inch")), and some tests were made for the Seam properties (Seam tensile strength, tensile strength Stitch, Seam elongation), in order to reach the best specifications for the quality of Seam of jeans fabrics under research, to emphasize the need to pay attention to the process of Seam and its quality to enrich the functional aspects of the fabrics of high-end youth clothing "jeans". The results showed that there is a direct correlation between the tensile strength, elongation of the sewing, the tensile strength of the stitch, and the study variables. It was proved that the best samples according to the limits of the research and the measured characteristics are sample (7) No, its’ specifications are (the decorative tape Seam “FSR”, the type of stitch, the series “SS”). With an ideal area (283.77) and a quality factor (40.54), while sample (8) no. Is the least and its specifications are (the Seam joint, the decorative tape Seam "FSR", the type of stitch, the series "SS") with an ideal area (540.86) and the quality parameter (77.27). A set of recommendations, proposals and future research for the development of manufacturing stages were presented. Heavy duty garments to achieve the quality of performance of the final product, as it has an economic return and the ability to compete for the finished garment industry in different markets.
