The Psychological Combustion of Mothers of Children with Autism Disorder and Its Relation to Their Productive Efficiency in Performing Household Tasks

Abstract

The main objective of the present study was to study the relationship between psychological combustion and productivity in the performance of household tasks among mothers of autistic children. To achieve this goal, the study tools were prepared in the form of the general data form of the family, the scale of psychological combustion in its dimensions (emotional stress, (The lack of sense of achievement), and the measure of productive efficiency in the performance of domestic tasks in their dimensions (the desire to perform household tasks - the ability to perform household tasks - satisfaction with the performance of domestic tasks - innovation in the performance of household tasks) (163) mothers of children with autism who belong to different social and economic levels. The mothers in the sample stipulated that they should have healthy sons and daughters and that their husbands be present. And the cities of Dakahlia governorate, followed the study descriptive analytical method, and the conduct of statistical transactions, the study reached several results.
Results

There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of mothers of autistic children, the study sample in the level of psychological combustion in its dimensions (emotional stress - feeling fatigue - physical stress - lack of sense of achievement) and all at the level of significance (0.05) According to (mother's work) in favor of the working mother, according to the age of the mother in favor of younger mothers, depending on the number of children in favor of the number of more children, depending on the educational level of the mother.
There are statistically significant differences between the average scores of mothers of autistic children. The research sample in the level of productive efficiency in the performance of domestic tasks in dimensions (the desire to perform household tasks - the ability to perform household tasks - satisfaction with the performance of domestic tasks - innovation in the performance of household tasks) (0.05) according to (mother's work) in favor of the non-working mother according to the duration of marriage in favor of the number of more years according to the age of the mother in favor of the larger age, Depending on the (monthly income level of the family) in favor of higher income.
The existence of an inverse correlative relationship between the average scores of mothers of autistic children. The research sample in the level of psychological combustion in its dimensions (emotional stress, feeling fatigue, physical stress, lack of sense of accomplishment), and the whole level of productive efficiency in its dimensions. 0 satisfaction with the performance of household tasks - innovation in the performance of household tasks) and all at the level of significance (0.01).
The percentage of participation of independent variables differed from the dimensions of psychological combustion (emotional stress, mental fatigue, physical stress, lack of sense of achievement) on the dependent variable (efficiency in the performance of household tasks as a whole). Feeling of accomplishment, then came the sagging feeling in the last place.

Recommendations:

Preparation of appropriate counseling programs for mothers of children who are autistic in how to interact and communicate with their children to reduce the negative aspects and increase their positive aspects, which contributes to increase the positive experiences towards autism in these mothers.
Provide awareness programs and guidance to the wife through the media to promote and develop the concept of home work to improve their productivity and development of their abilities and skills and desire to innovate at home.
Expand the establishment of specialized centers in the provision of psychological support and social support to reduce the effects of psychological combustion in mothers of children with autism disorder.
