Abstract

The major aim of this research was to recognize the effectiveness of a counseling program to get youth aware of managerial skills needed for managing small projects, in order to be able to create a productive society where knowledge and experience come together with youth enthusiasm to create a prosperous future.
Research Procedure:
This research follows the descriptive and empirical procedure.
Research sample:
The basic research sample consisted of 230 university students from different colleges chosen randomly.
The pilot study was applicate on 20 students.
The empirical research sample consisted of 30 male and female students having low levels of awareness in small project management skills.
Research tools:
The tools used in this research include:
General data for student and family (prepared by researcher).
Questionnaire of awareness of Small projects managing skills (prepared by researcher).
The counselling program for increasing awareness of student's managerial skills of small projects (prepared by researcher).
Results:

There were statistically significant differences between students' awareness of management skills of small projects management in favor of female gender.
There were statistically significant differences between students' awareness of management skills of small projects in favor of the older age category of students.
There were statistically significant differences between students' awareness of the management skills of project management in favor of scientific college students.
There were no statistically significant differences between rural and urban students and awareness of management skills.
There was significant correlation between students' awareness of management skills and the parents' level of education.
There was statistically significant negative correlation between students' awareness of management skills and the family monthly income.
There were statistically significant differences between pre-program and post-program performance in awareness of the management skills of small projects among students in favor of post-performance.

Recommendations:

Conducting seminars to highlight the experiences of successful small entrepreneurs.
Teaching "project management" to students of different college specializations.
Providing support to small-scale entrepreneurs at various stages through rehabilitation of human resources.
 Encourage s investors to help small businesses.
Training of small entrepreneurs on modern management systems.
 Consolidate the culture of entrepreneurship among young people and motivate them to establish private projects.
 Establish the need for a feasibility study to identify requirements and possible risks.
 Create media educating programs for youth.
