Abstract

This study aims to identify the parents' perception level of online dangers on children and its relationship to their Practices to reduce them. A sample was selected from Alexandria governorate, consisted of 150 parents have children (aged 6 to 15 years old ) , who can use Internet. Data was collected by using a questionnaire by personal interview. The descriptive analysis method was used , The results showed a low level of the parents' perception of online dangers, While the level of parental practices to reduce these dangers was moderate, and the results didn’t show any statistically significant differences betwen parents in the level of perception of  Internet’s dangers according to the number of family members and educational level of father and mother and the father's career, mother's career and monthly income of the family and responsible for follow-up children, In addition, there were no statistically significant differences between parents in the level of their practices to reduce the dangers of the Internet according to the variables (father's and mother's career, father's and mother’s level of education, number of family members, type of children), while there were statistically significant differences between The level of parental practices according to the responsible for the follow-up of the children and monthly income of the family . The results also showed a statistical significance positive correlation between the parents' perception level of online dangers and their practices to reduce them.
